Sketch

Inspiration

The piece that inspired me was made by the famous Russian painter, Wassily Kandinsky. He is well known for his abstract work. He also taught at the Bauhaus school of art which relates to his passion of abstract. Bauhaus also has many shapes and lines and this piece is simple yet strong with its use of colours, shapes and lines which inspired me for my piece.

My poster is based on racism. Although many think it is not something that is still existent, it is. My idea was to show that equality should be a concept everyone lives by and racism should eventually fade away as it is the shadow. My target audience is to the entire population, everyone should take the time to accept every single individual as they are. Everyone belongs to the same race which is the human race. This poser will be seen in public transits and schools so it is seen on a daily basis so we can get a quicker response and conclusion to the problem.

ABCD- Raoul Hausmann

Raoul Hausmann was born in Vienna on July 12th 1886. He was a very well known artist who was also a writer and inspired many.   He was influenced by his father’s interest in art as he was a painter. He made photo collages and was part of the Berlin Dada which was an art movement of the early twentieth century. Hausmann liked to use many different materials such as clippings, posters, photographs and other materials in his works which were meant to be symbolic.
His work is very interesting and appealing but I found the ABCD-Hausmann very interesting. It use in many similar tones of reds, orange, pink and yellow give the piece a monochromatic look. It uses images and words together to form a symbolic piece. It is a self portrait of himself. ABCD was influenced by the avant garde throughout world war 1; a reference to individuals or pieces that are original when it comes to art, culture and politics. This collage includes a picture of his face and below this is a flyer that is advertising his presentation of a poem “The Soul of Maragarine”. The letters ABCD is a dada poem which is in between his teeth in this collage. To the left side of his face you see the word “voce” meaning voice. This piece gives the voice of wanting a revolution.

My inspiration behind my CD

This CD project made me inspired to think of an idea that was original and show my love towards all genres of music. It was a challenge to start the project as I was a blank canvas and didn’t have many ideas. This allowed me to do some research and inspire myself from already existing CD’s. My approach to this CD was not only to focus on music but my love for music, hence the title of my album. My original canned element was going to be a bracelet but I was oblivious of what I could develop from it so I decided to go from another point of view and scanned one of my previous art pieces.  This piece is a print that I made from a piece of linoleum; it was made based on my open mind and passion towards art, music and many other things. It inspired me to create a CD with a similar concept. The word love was my staring point on this project and I developed it further more to create a CD full of colour and contrasts and fun. It was originally going to be a black and white piece but i figured it would give more emphasis if I was to use colour and the colour would send a better message of my drive of music. This project allowed me to explore the tools and photoshop and familiarize myself with them. I decreased the intensity of the music beats in the fore ground of the project so that we could focus on the title yet also remember that the music beat is present. The songs at the back were inspired by words that would make someone happy and energized.
